Born in France to Iranian parents and now based in British Columbia, Gila Rosa is a singer-songwriter whose musical world is shaped by the intersection of cultures, the search for belonging, and the depth of human emotion.

Moving between several cultural worlds, she found in music a language capable of bringing together the different facets of her identity. For Gila, music has never been simply an art form: it has always been a refuge and a way of making sense of the world.

Whether performing solo at the piano or with her band, her music moves between French chanson, soul, contemporary folk and introspective pop. With a warm, expressive voice, she writes and performs songs in French, English and Persian.

Influenced by artists such as Norah Jones, Melody Gardot, Dido, Adele, Françoise Hardy, Pomme and Marjan Farsad, she explores themes of immigration, love, resilience, nostalgia and self-discovery. Through her artistic practice, she seeks to create moments of intimacy and reflection, inviting listeners to see themselves in the stories she tells and reconnect with what brings us together beyond our differences.
